DMZ III Two-Platen

Multi-Material Precision. Two-Platen Scale.

The SM-NTP-DMZ III Two-Platen extends Chen Hsong’s multi-material platform to larger parts requiring higher clamping force. It carries the same independent rotary platen lineage and multi-material control experience as the DM III series: an independent rotary platen on a high-rigidity alloy steel base, with clearance of 0.15mm or less, more than twice the precision of the industry average (0.3–0.5mm), and servo-driven positional accuracy of ±0.005°. A patented toggle-brake clamping mechanism delivers balanced, rapid, shock-free, and silent clamping. The two-platen design provides larger mold space, longer opening stroke, and greater mold capacity for bigger multi-material molds.

Modular injection system configurable with three injection structures (horizontal, vertical, and side-mounted) using flexible H/L/V arrangements and 340–1040 injection units for multi-material production from 550 to 750 tonnes. e-Drive™ electric plasticising is standard, saving up to 30% power versus hydraulic and enabling synchronous melt with valve-gate or shut-off-nozzle molds. The machine frame is rigidity-reinforced with an optimised structure for higher load capacity and minimal deformation during operation. OPC-UA connectivity is standard. Built for large automotive components, industrial equipment, and multi-material parts that exceed toggle clamping range.

FAQ

01What Is The Difference Between The DMZ III Two-Platen and The DM III Toggle?

Both share the same independent rotary platen design, modular injection system, and servo-driven positional accuracy of ±0.005°. The DM III uses toggle (three-platen) clamping from 168 to 568 tonnes and suits standard multi-material production.

The SM-NTP-DMZ III uses two-platen clamping from 550 to 750 tonnes with a patented toggle-brake mechanism, providing larger mold space, longer opening stroke, and a more compact footprint.

Choose the DM III for standard multi-material production; choose the DMZ III Two-Platen for larger parts, heavier molds, or when you need a larger two-platen mold area.

Two-platen clamping provides larger mold space relative to machine footprint, which is critical for large multi-material molds with rotary platens.

The longer opening stroke accommodates deeper parts, and the optimised ergonomic take-out platform makes part removal and automation integration easier.

For multi-material applications above 500 tonnes, two-platen is often the preferred architecture because it avoids the longer machine lengths associated with large toggle designs.

The DMZ III Two-Platen is designed for large multi-material parts: automotive headlight and tail-light assemblies, large appliance panels, industrial equipment housings, and any multi-colour or multi-material application that requires clamping force above 500 tonnes or large mold space.

Rotary table load capacity up to 5 tonnes supports heavy multi-material mold assemblies, with three or more materials available via optional multi-station turntables.
