01 Why Choose A Two-Platen Machine Over A Toggle Machine?

A two-platen machine delivers the same clamping force as a toggle machine in a significantly shorter overall length, because there is no rear platen or toggle linkage.

The Supermaster TP also provides up to 50% more opening stroke and daylight than comparable toggle machines, making it better suited for deep-draw parts and large molds. When floor space is limited but high tonnage and large mold capacity are required, two-platen is the standard choice.

NON-STOP™ is Chen Hsong’s proprietary reliability architecture for the Supermaster TP. It combines built-in redundancy, predictive maintenance readiness, and durable mechanical design to achieve annual downtime as low as 0.5%. For operations running 24/7, this translates directly to higher output and lower unplanned maintenance cost.

The MK6 Large (800-1,650T) and the lower end of the Supermaster TP range overlap on tonnage. The Supermaster TP is a two-platen machine with a shorter footprint, up to 50% more opening stroke and daylight, and uniform clamping force distribution.

The MK6 Large is a toggle machine with the proven MK6 platform and broader application flexibility at large tonnage. Choose the Supermaster TP when floor space is limited, molds are large or deep-cavity, or when you need above 1,650 tonnes.

Choose the MK6 Large when you prefer toggle-based clamping for general large-part production. 

The Supermaster TP covers 700 to 6,500 tonnes with 13 clamping and 14 injection units in a mix-and-match system. The TP-SMART covers 550 to 1,700 tonnes with a modular, smart design at a more accessible machine class. Both share Chen Hsong’s patented two-platen technology, NON-STOP™, and Precision Hydraulics™.

The Supermaster TP uses the SVP/2 second-generation servo drive system combining a fast-response gear pump with a high-precision servomotor. This delivers up to 80% energy saving compared to traditional fixed-pump hydraulic machines, with response speed more than double that of a variable displacement pump.

Yes. The Supermaster TP supports standard robot interfaces and is designed for integration with automation systems. The two-platen design provides clear access to the mold area from above and from the sides, which simplifies robotic part take-out and insert loading.
