Most injection molding machine manufacturers outsource key components: castings from one supplier, hydraulics from another, controllers from a third. Chen Hsong is the only fully vertically integrated injection molding machine manufacturer in the industry. We manufacture everything in-house, from ductile iron castings and precision-machined parts to proprietary controllers and complete hydraulic systems, across more than 120 processes. Most parts are self-manufactured, without relying on external sources.

The result is total quality control. When you design, cast, machine, heat-treat, nitride, assemble, and test under one roof, there are no gaps for defects to hide. Every component is built to work with every other component, because they were made to.

When 98% of MK6 customers come back to order again, it says more about quality than any specification sheet.

Every Chen Hsong injection molding machine is built through five major production stages, following the actual build sequence from structural foundation to final commissioning. Each stage is performed entirely in-house with dedicated workshops, specialised equipment, and integrated quality checkpoints.

The build starts with the machine frame: the structural backbone of every injection molding machine. Heavy-duty I-beam steel is cut, welded, and precision-levelled to form a high-rigidity base that absorbs clamping forces and supports all moving assemblies. Chen Hsong's frame design is reinforced by 50% over the industry standard, with a lower centre of gravity for vibration-free high-speed operation. Linear guide rails are installed at this stage to ensure long-term positional accuracy.

The clamping unit is the structural heart of the machine. Platens and toggle links are cast from high-grade ductile iron in Chen Hsong's own foundry, then precision-machined on CNC centres. Tie bars are manufactured and chrome-plated in-house. Toggle pins, bushings, and the complete locking mechanism are produced and assembled to tight tolerances. Chen Hsong's patented circular platen design distributes clamping force more evenly than conventional rectangular platens, reducing platen deformation by 25% under equivalent loads and extending mould life.

The injection unit converts raw plastic pellets into precision-moulded parts. Barrels are bored from solid steel billets. Screws are manufactured, then nitrided and chrome-plated for wear resistance and corrosion protection. Nozzles are machined to exact tolerances. The complete plasticising assembly, including the hydraulic motor, screw drive, and barrel heater bands, is built and tested as an integrated unit. Shot-to-shot weight repeatability of less than ±0.25% is verified before the unit leaves the production line.

The power behind every machine movement. Hydraulic manifold blocks are precision-machined and assembled with servo motors, proportional valves, and internal gear pumps. Chen Hsong's proprietary Precision Hydraulics™ system achieves movement repeatability of approximately 0.05% on critical axes. For all-electric and hybrid models, servo drive cabinets are assembled and integrated at this stage. The proprietary Ai-11 or SPS3300 controller is installed, wired, and calibrated. Chen Hsong is one of the few injection molding machine manufacturers that develops its own controllers in-house.

All major assemblies converge on the final assembly line, where the clamping unit, injection unit, hydraulic system, and controller are integrated onto the machine frame. Safety guards and enclosures are fabricated from sheet metal, painted or powder-coated, and fitted. Every machine undergoes full commissioning, including dry-cycle testing, injection trials, and comprehensive quality inspection before it is cleared for dispatch.

Japanese Precision, Global Scale

Chen Hsong invests heavily in the equipment that makes the equipment. As a plastic injection molding manufacturer committed to total quality control, core components are produced using Japanese FMS flexible manufacturing systems, CNC machining centres, and numerically controlled lathes and grinders imported from Japan and Europe.

The Shenzhen Industrial Park houses one of the largest NC machining systems in the Pearl River Delta region, dedicated to producing injection molding machine core components with the highest stability and precision.

Shenzhen Industrial Park

Chen Hsong’s primary manufacturing hub in Pingshan, Shenzhen. Houses the main production lines for toggle machines, two-platen machines, and all-electric SPARK series.

Includes the group’s largest NC machining system and ultra-large-tonnage assembly facilities for machines over 4,000 tons. Phase III expansion completed in 2014 added 83,000 m² specifically for ultra-large machines.
